My love affair with colours goes back to my childhood. Given my passion for drawing and painting, I represented my school in various competitions and bagged numerous prizes. Soon I got caught up in the rat race of academics. Even while I was riding the bandwagon, I kept trying to do justice to my creative calling. I studied animation and VFX for 6 months. But it wasn’t enough! It took me three and a half years, in a prosaic job where I used my Post Graduate degree in Commerce, to understand where I belong. It was time now!

Makeup – a union of colours, brushes and fashion – that’s where my heart was. I decided to turn my passion into my profession. It was a move from paper and canvas to the human face, and it was so much better. Every face was different, was unique. It was like weaving a new story each time. The human face is an expression of the beauty that lies within, and I became the storyteller.

I enrolled for formal training to become a makeup artist. With no Godfather or contacts in the industry, and no salon to start with, making a career in makeup artistry was an uphill battle. Fortunately, I got the opportunity to play second fiddle to a few top notch makeup artists and got hands on experience in makeup for video shoots, weddings, movies and editorials, and thus began my journey. The rest is history!

I live at the heart of western Mumbai, but that does not stop me from going the extra mile, literally. I am happy to travel to other cities in India, or outside, for the sake of makeup (or travel!). While I am passionate about anything to do with makeup, I secretly claim to be matchless in eye makeup and contouring. I do not use makeup to conceal flaws but to reveal and accentuate the beauty that exists on every face. As your makeup artist, I use my fingertips and brushes to blend in my experience with your personal comfort.

We (yes, I have an amazing support team) are now a company that provides makeup and hairstyling services for diverse events. With a team of makeup artists and hairdressers, we travel across India and overseas for destination weddings and other events. As a team, we believe in remaining abreast with the latest global trends, brands and products while adapting it to local skin tones and tastes.

Poonam is legit!
She has many years of experience and it definitely shows.. Before booking Poonam for my wedding in May 2014, I tried to talk to different make-up artists and saw their work but was never satisfied completely. I had heard of Poonam and seen her work through my photographer (Piyush Tanpure) so I kinda knew she was popular in the wedding industry. When I sent her an inquiry about her availability, she was super-quick to respond. She would also update me with her recent bridal make-up work. I decided to go with her even without meeting her simply because I loved her work from the pictures I saw. I'm so glad I was able to have Poonam beautify me for my wedding.
She is extremely professional and all her suggestions are very useful. She will look at your face and know what will work and what won't. She will also have a meeting with you to discuss your looks and hair-do based on your wedding/reception clothing.
On the day of the wedding, she would constantly touch base with me to let me know what she was doing with the makeup and make sure I was okay with how it looked. Another great thing about Poonam is that she is very quick and efficient. Not to mention the products she uses are great. When she was finished with my makeup, I checked myself in the mirror and I was super happy with the results. My eyes looked stunning and most importantly I still looked like myself!
That was the best part (still feeling like I was me).
